The Carrot

Carrot juice is probably our favorite! It is so good. And so good for us. Carrots are abundant in Beta-Carotene (vitA). Vitamin A is great for many things! One is boosting the immune system with aiding in the creation of white blood cells. This will also help infections and prevents cell damage. Carrots have anti-oxidant carotenoids that kill off toxins. Pineapple also adds a digestive enzyme bromelain which helps clean out the lining of our bowels!

*Increase the amount of carrots to 10+ and decrease the amount of pineapple as you get accustomed to it. It is really good to add 1/2 a lime or lemon for extra zest!

Try to buy fresh local organic produce if possible. Rinse the dirt off of everything. If your unsure how clean your carrots are then it’s best to peel them. Cut the skin off the pineapple. Prepare everything to fit in your shoot size and juice away!!

The Beet.

Beet juice. The colour and shape of the beet gives it away. Packed full of goodness. Beets contain high amounts of nitrate which the body converts into nitric-oxide. This can improve blood circulation and in-turn will decrease blood pressure and increase energy levels! It is also full of Betaine which is an amino acid. It helps process fats in the liver while giving it a clean. This aids protein formation and the heart with its workload. Beets would be perfect for anyone who wants more stamina in athletics or just lots of energy with a good heart.

  • 1/2 of a lime
  • 1 apple

*Add an inch or two of ginger for extra goodness! Decrease or take out the pineapple and just add a whole lime or lemon as you get used to it.

Try to buy good size beets to yield more juice. Always fresh and local from a farm you know or organic from the supermarket in the winter. Clean well or peel off the outer layer of the beets. Cut the skin off the pineapple and lime. Rinse the apple and slice the ingredients in sizes to fit down your shoot. Then Juice and serve!!

*Try to use ingredients that are as close to their natural state as possible.

Chocolate Avocado Smoothie

A chocolate drink that is actually healthy??! Feel free to indulge in this one. Chocolate in its raw bean form (Cacao) is definitely a superfood. These beans have been used far back throughout history for medicine and healing. Cacao becomes harmful only after it is heated and processed with preservatives and sugars (ie: coco).

Cacao is said to be the HIGHEST food filled with over 700 anti-oxidants and flavonoids. These will help in repairing our damaged cells and preventing disease. It supports our arteries which will fight against and can even reverse arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries causing heart disease). Also, It is said to be the HIGHEST source of Magnesium in a food. Magnesium is used for over 300 biochemical needs in our body! It helps with heart rhythm, brain, nerve and muscle functions to name a few.

On top of the cacao bean we have Avocado! This is another complete food. Packed with everything we need to support our health. It is filled with healthy monounsaturated fats, vitamins and minerals. Avocado goes right along supporting the cacao bean.

Instead of dates you can use a tbsp or more of Natural “unpasteurized” honey. You can freeze your bananas ahead of time to make the smoothie extra cool and refreshing.
